About Grant
I’m Grant Denton, founder of Trellis Properties. I grew up in East Tennessee in a family auto salvage business — what most people would call a “junk yard.” That’s where I learned to see value where others might not. More importantly, that is where I learned that your word matters. If you say you’re going to do something, you follow through.
That principle carries into everything I do. My goal is simple — be clear, fair, and treat others how I want to be treated. Outside of work, I’m a husband and a dad to two amazing kids. My faith plays a big role in how I live and operate, and it keeps me grounded in what actually matters.
Because at the end of the day, deals come and go, but your reputation stays with you. That’s something I take seriously.
A Foundation for Growth
Trellis Properties started with a simple goal — to play a small part in helping communities grow. We didn’t start in land. We started by remodeling houses, getting hands-on experience improving properties and bringing new life to places others had overlooked. That foundation still shapes how we think today, and has grown into a track record of acquiring and entitling land for development across East Tennessee.
Our name draws inspiration from a garden trellis — a structure that supports and guides growth. That’s how we approach development. It’s not about forcing a project onto a piece of land, but understanding it and building something that fits and adds long-term value for the community.
Most of our work happens behind the scenes — land acquisition, rezoning, entitlements, and navigating utilities. It’s complex, but the goal is simple: bring clarity to the process and follow through on what we say we’re going to do. We’re a relationship-driven business, working closely with landowners, builders, and local stakeholders. In this business, your name matters, and we approach every project with that in mind.
Our focus is East Tennessee. This is home, and we’re committed to building projects that make sense for the community for years to come.
